DC contactors for electric vehicles are characterized by high working voltage, which is nearly 20 times higher than the 24 V commonly used in automotive electrical appliances. When breaking a DC circuit with a working voltage higher than 250V, arc extinguishing is more difficult. After analyzing the causes of contact failure of the traditional product contact system and the action failure of the electromagnetic mechanical system, the reliability design concept is used to reduce the failure rate of the contact system and improve the reliability of the action and reset of the electromagnetic mechanical system. We put forward the design points of the main contact system and other important parts with magnetic blowing arc extinguishing performance, in order to meet the needs of DC contactor for electric vehicles with small size and high reliability.
